SEEING WITH INTENTION -Digital Photography

Instructor: Julie E. Brent, MA

Saturdays, Feb. 20 & 27, 2010
10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Members*: $95/All others: $115

* Supporting level & above

The focus of this 2 day workshop is SEEING! That is the essence of all great photography...the photographer captured something that they saw in a specific way. Often when we look at our photos we wonder what it was that we wanted to capture in that frame. This workshop is designed to “get” you there. Learn to take LOTS of photographs, download photos, edit & email them using Picasa (easy to use and free). Julie will give you assignments, provide composition and lighting guidance, gentle suggestions and personal insights. The class will have a chance for discussion, photo review, and a final “clothesline exhibition” of one 8 x 10 photo taken in the workshop. Supplies to bring: digital camera, operation manual, any additional lens you may have, empty digital media card, laptop computer, comfortable walking shoes, & lunch.

JUMPIN’ JUBILEE AND MORE

COPA hosted one of the Mobile area’s most successful public art projects in 2007, Art Takes Flight:Party With The Pelicans. In that tradition, COPA is currently making plans for 2010-2011 to host a similar public art project in Fairhope, this one concentrating on flounder, shrimp and crab, all of which
are creatures found in Mobile Bay mysterious jubilees. Once the creatures have been on display throughout Fairhope, an auction will be held on October 1, 2011. Named, Jumpin’ Jubliee, more details about how you can participate in the project also can be found in detail at www.fairhopecopa.com. DEADLINE IS APRIL 24, 2010.

ART & ABOUT First Quarter Change-Out at all the hotels, restaurants and businesses will be determined by the artists and their schedules. Just let the Center know when you swap your artwork out.
