GET INVOLVED!

We have a lot going on that we wanted to bring you up to date on and hope that you can take part in during the next few months. ESAC encourages you to consider the artist level membership of $60 for the coming year. The $60 level includes your Members’ Gallery hanging fee and entitles you to be included on our website as a working artist.

• First, just a reminder that the Members Open Show is coming up in December. We need your work turned in on Tuesday, December 4 th and we will open on Friday, December 7 th with a great reception sponsored by Compass Bank.
• In January, we are calling all artists to submit work for our “H’Art” show. We are featuring medical professionals who are also artists in two of our galleries, and we wanted to focus on the heart and heart health through a special exhibit. Throughout the month we will have programs related to heart health and we want your art on exhibit. The artwork can be two or three dimensional, representational or abstract, just as long as it relates to the heart. We need that work here by January 2 nd before the opening on January 4 th. Please call or e-mail Robin at robin@esartcenter.com if you plan to participate.
• Painters Paradise - Fairhope And The Eastern Shore is going to be a very glamorous coffee table book featuring local artists and local scenes. Deadline for submission of work to be considered for the book (100 paintings will be included) is in April and you can go to our website easternshoreartcenter.com to get an application. This will be a super fundraiser for the Art Center for years to come and will give our area and our artists lots of well deserved exposure.
• Next fall we’ll be co-hosting “Calling All Angels” with Mercy Medical. All of our galleries November 2008 will be filled with angel themed artwork for this special event that will benefit Mercy’s pediatric program and the Art Center. More information on how to get involved will come out the first of the year.
• Mobile Arts Council now offers an artist directory on their website. Artists who wish to be included in the directory may join the Council for a modest fee. • Member Sales Gallery accepts work the last Friday of the even months (February, April, June, August, October & December) from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. No work is accepted after 2 p.m. Work should be new and never before exhibited at ESAC and properly wired for hanging. Due to space limitations, only 2 pieces of artwork (not exceeding 40” in any direction) per member artist.
