PAST EXHIBITS

PAINTERS PARADISE

First, Painters Paradise, our fabulous coffee table book, has a deadline of April 1st for you to submit your artwork to be considered for the book. The subject matter has to be from the Eastern Shore and you are free to use the paint medium of your choice. If you can find your own $1000 sponsor, which can be a group of friends or family members or one big donor, your work is guaranteed to go in the book. Call Diane Daniell at 209-0523 if you need any more information.

CALLING ALL ANGELS

Remember too that we are looking for work for Calling All Angels that will be a joint fundraiser for us and Mercy Medical in November. Deadline for submission of work to be sponsored is May 31st and work for the juried portion is due September 15th. Nancy Raia at the Art Center (928-2228) or Ange Baggett at Mercy Medical (621-4884) can answer any questions on this one or you can check out the Calling All Angels website.

JULY EXHIBIT - BLACK & WHITE & RED ALL OVER

Our exhibit for July ‘08 is entitled Black & White & Red All Over. That’s right—all the artwork in the Whiting gallery will be in those three colors. We thought it would be a great background for the Salsa Night event and get you to be creative in the use of a three color palette. Work needs to be here for that show Tuesday, July 1st. Call us if you’re going to participate so we can use your name in prior publicity.

COURTYARD GALLERY EXHIBIT - GIMME SHELTER

Our Courtyard Gallery exhibit for September and October is Gimme Shelter Barcitecture & Art Auction. The auction will benefit ESAC and BARC, the local chapter of the Humane Society. Artists are needed to do pet portraits. If you can help, contact Kate Fisher at 928-0010. Info will be on our website shortly.

TAX LAWS FOR THE ARTIST

Tax Laws for the Artist: Sally Wagner, CPA, of Hartmann, Blackmon and Kilgore will present “Tax Laws for the Artist” at ESAC Tuesday, April 22 at noon. So whether you’re a full time artist or someone who sells a few pieces each year, bring a brown bag lunch and lots of questions to make your next tax year easier.

MEMBER GALLERY

Change out for the Members Sales Gallery is Friday, April 25th, from 9 until 2. No work over 36” in any direction (including frame) can be accepted so we can accommodate everyone’s work. You are limited to 2 pieces for hanging and 6 in the print bin. Work left here longer than 30 days after change out becomes the property of the Art Center.

OUTREACH PROGRAM

Outreach Program: ESAA member artists are invited to hang their original work in one of our numerous outreach locations. Artwork in the locations changes every three months. For additional information, contact Silvia Skultety at (251) 554-5370.

BICENTENNIAL PARK

Funds are being raised for a Bicentennial Park for Baldwin County. There will be a North South Ball at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale on May 10th and the committee is looking for donations. If you can help, contact Kelsia Robb at 621-0004 or krobb@ideacomgc.com.

SUMMER ART BASH

We are working on our schedule for Summer Art Bash. If you have experience teaching children and would like to teach a 2 hour class for a 2 week session this summer, contact Suzan Christensen at 928-2228 or suzan@esartcenter.com.

Congratulations to everyone whose work was accepted to the Members Juried Show and to our prize winners. And if you didn't get in, be assured you were in very good company and we expect you to enter again next year. Thanks for all you do and we look forward to seeing you at the Art Center very soon.
