PAST EXHIBITS


The Eastern Shore Art Center houses five galleries with exhibits that change monthly as well a gallery featuring member artists' work for sale. Exhibit contents vary and feature oils, watercolors, graphics, mixed media, photography, sculpture and ceramics.

 

JUNE 2008 EXHIBITS

Opening receptions will be held on First Friday Artwalk, June 6 from 6-8 pm. Wine, beer, and hor d'oeuvres will be served along with live music. Admission is free for members and $2 for non-members

 

 

WHITING GALLERY : MOBILE WATERCOLOR AND GRAPHICS SOCIETY.

 

The Mobile Watercolor and Graphic Arts Society was founded June 5, 1948 to sponsor exhibits and to encourage artists to work in the watercolor and graphic arts mediums

 

 

WOOLEY GALLERY : VSA ARTS OF ALABAMA: ARTPARTNERS ON THE BAY

 

Based in Birmingham, Very Special Arts- Alabama is a statewide, non-profit organization founded to enable the handicapped to participate in arts programs. The exhibit will showcase 75 collaboration pieces that will be auctioned off at ESAC June 19. www.vsartsalabama.org

 

 

WILSON GALLERY : PERSEVERANCE WORKS BY RICKY TRIONE

 

Celebrated blind artist Ricky Trione will showcase his tactile colorful paintings. www.rickytrioneart.com

 

 

COURTYARD GALLERY : ART RELATED WORKS BY DUNCAN BAIRD AND JOANN COX

 

JoAnn Cox, award winning abstract painter from Mobile, and brother-in-law Duncan Baird, assistant professor of art at Delta State University in Mississippi, will present a 2 person show for the months of May and June.  Cox's abstracts, she says, are a visual experience open to personal interpretation. Baird's work, in both 2 and 3 dimensions, reflects his love of his home in the Mississippi Delta in varying materials, textures and colors.
